About Norwell Farms: One Farm, Two Organizations
Did you know that Norwell Farms is now comprised of two separate organizations?
What Does That Mean?
Norwell Farms is a community farm in Norwell at the historic Jacobs Farm Homestead on Main Street. We are now two organizations, a non-profit organization and a for-profit farm.
Norwell Farms CSA is the for-profit farm run by our Farm Manager, Scott Franklin. Norwell Farms, the nonprofit organization is led by a group of volunteer board members. Together, we partner to provide fresh, locally grown produce to our community, to educate people about sustainable agriculture, and to improve food access to all members of our community.
Our Farm offers:
- Summer, flower and winter CSA shares for members and a farm stand open to the public. We focus on growing high quality heirloom and open-pollinated produce for an 85-member CSA, a retail farm stand, and local farmer’s markets.
Our non-profit Mission:
- Educate and engage the community about sustainable, local agriculture, and the special history of Jacobs Farm;
- Increase access to and awareness about healthy food by at-risk populations; and
- Protect, conserve and steward historic open space, natural habitat and farmland for the benefit of the community.
