Vinal School Garden

We donated raised beds, seedlings each season, and continue to support Vinal’s teachers with gardening educational programs to our 4th and 2nd graders at Vinal!

2022 IMPACT:

Norwell Farms has donated seedlings and has prepared a series of classes to train the 4th graders to become garden embassadors. This year the 2nd graders became the stewards of the raised beds that were installed last year. Norwell Farms volunteers continue the watering and harvesting the produce from these gardens over the summer. Any produce is donated to a myriad of food pantries and other local charities that are happy to accept our donations.

2021 IMPACT:

Thanks to a generous grant from the James Underwood Crockett Agricultural Technology Growth Fund in the amount of $2,700 Norwell Farms collaborated with Norwell Public Schools to install 4 raised beds behind the Vinal Elementary School (Spring 2021). The fourth graders are responsible for the planning, planting, and care of the raised beds. The Norwell Farm Board support the teachers and students in providing materials, resources, and our expertise in fostering the importance of and benefits of local food production and ecologic stewardship. Students enjoy being able to donate the food grown to local food pantries!
